Sunday “Discovery Classes” For Children

“The Discovery Class” for children ages 5 - 12 is held at The Unity Center every Sunday during the 11:00 am Service. Each class is devoted to prayer and quiet time, a Bible story connected with the lesson of the day, getting to know each other, and creative activities of art and music that are fun as well as enlightening.
Myrtle Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, once asked, “Who will take care of the children?” We at The Unity Center of New York City believe that our children are our hope for the future, and we can best take care of them by planting the seeds of Truth in their young minds. We can give them the tools they need to develop their God-given potential, allowing them to blossom into happy, healthy, and prosperous adults. The Goal of our teachers is to “callout” the innate Divinity within each child so they can “quicken and unfold through the innate laws of their own genius.”
Rod Kennedy
Rod has served as the Director of the “Discovery Class” since 2002 and has given several workshops at the Unity Center. He is the President of Stadia Tins Ltd. which produces Major League Baseball Licensed products, including replicas of baseball stadiums, lunch boxes, and greeting cards. Rod is the author and co-author of 9 books including The Brooklyn Cookbook, Monopoly, The Story Behind the World's Best-Selling Game, and Hollywood in Vintage Postcards.
